  • In the midst of immense homophobic and transphobic violence the LGBTQIA+ community is facing at this moment in time, we believe that joy is an act of resistance.*

    Additionally, we recognize that a lot of Kalamazoo LGBTQIA+ programming centers adults. Youth Pride is curated by LGBTQIA+ youth, for LGBTQIA+ youth. With the support of trusted adults in the community, Youth Pride is a youth-centered space that priorities comfort, safety, and authentic joy.

  • This event is FREE to attend! We are grateful to our sponsors and donors, who help us make Kalamazoo Youth Pride financially accessible to all attendees.

  • All ages can attend this event, however, the following policies are in place to preserve the safety of all attendees:

    • Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an older youth or adult.

    • Anyone over the age of 24 must be accompanying an attending youth.

  • Nope! Anyone is welcome to attend.

  • Absolutely! This event is intended for LGBTQIA+ youth, families, and their communities to come together and celebrate queer joy.

  • Our safety volunteers are tasked with keeping Kalamazoo Youth Pride safe and accessible. These volunteers are stationed at the entrance and throughout the event site to address safety concerns as they arise and to ensure that the following policies are enforced:

    • All bags must be checked at the entrance.

    • Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an older youth or an adult.

    • Anyone over 24 must be accompanying an attending youth.
