Pre-Pride Event: Doggie Day!
Doggie Day is back! Bring your dogs (big and small!) to Fairmount Park on Saturday, May 23 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for this favorite Pre-Pride tradition. We’ll have racing games, a biscuit-eating contest, a “best trick” contest, and a photo both to take a picture with your pup. We will be grilling hot dogs (meat and vegetarian) while our furry friends sniff, bark, and play. There will be pools placed around the park, so please bring your own towels. And don’t worry, there will be games for humans too - complete with door prizes!
New this year! Our Proud Families playgroup will have a kid’s corner with games and activities for littles! Don’t leave anyone at home, because Doggy Day is truly an event for the whole family.

Drag Bingo Brunch: A Fundraiser for OutFront Kalamazoo
Our friends at Bell’s Brewery are once again kicking off Pride week with Drag Bingo Brunch! Join our hosts Monique Madison, Jade Harmony, Yolanda del Fierce, and Gretta Vendetta at Bell’s on Sunday, May 31 for this favorite pre-Pride tradition and fundraiser for OutFront Kalamazoo. The festivities will begin at 1:00 p.m., with doors opening 30 minutes before start time. Your $25 ticket covers your entry and brunch buffet, with bingo sheets available to purchase on-site. Haunters Against Hate: The Event
Haunters Against Hate: The Event is coming to Kalamazoo! On August 1-2, the LGBTQIA+, haunt and horror communities will come together at the Radisson Plaza Hotel with over 60 vendors, workshops, drag shows, special performances, and the annual Haunters Against Hate awards. Celebrity guests will include the cast from the cult horror film “Sleepaway Camp,” the stars of the classic TV series “Land of the Lost” (along with a sleestak joining them), comedian Julie Brow and Russel Todd from “Friday the 13th Part II” and “Chopping Mall.” There will also be a cosplay competition and a makeup competition, where competitors must create their own version of “Aunt Gladys” from the hit movie “Weapons.”
Best of all, the proceeds of this event will be split between OutFront Kalamazoo and the Grand Rapids Pride Center, supporting LGBTQIA+ programs and resources across Southwest Michigan!

Join us for QUEER YOGA every first and third Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at OutFront Kalamazoo! Immerse yourself in a space that is by Queer folks, for Queer folks. There are many issues at stake this year, and it is critical that our current and future decision makers are prioritizing the safety and needs of our Trans+ community members. Our friends at We the People of Kalamazoo (WTPMI/WTPAF) are convening a town hall to engage candidates for SWMI midterm and primary elections, taking place on Saturday, May 16 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dormouse Theatre. Members of our LGBTQIA+ community and allies are invited to share your stories and to hear about the candidates’ visions for the future of our state and our people.

LGBTQIA+ Bird Watching (Evening Session)
OutFront Kalamazoo, the Audubon Society of Kalamazoo, and Sapphoasis invite you for a day of LGBTQIA+ bird watching! Join nonbinary lesbian birder Kim Ranger at Bow in the Clouds Preserve on Wednesday, May 6 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and again from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to watch our local birds during peak migration season. Birdwatching guidance and binoculars will be provided (though if you have your own binoculars, please bring them!).
Accessibility Note: Bow in the Clouds Preserve is fairly accessible, with a very short walk on hard-packed stone. There are three benches to sit on, and a wooden overlook with a ramp. The parking area can fit 10-12 cards.
Seasons (50+) Attends Tulip Time!
Seasons (50+) invites you to join us on Wednesday, May 6 to attend Tulip Time! This annual festival takes place in Holland, MI celebrating tulips and Dutch heritage. Meet us there, or we’ll have a few carpool vehicles departing from the OutFront parking lot at 10:00 a.m. and returning around 4:00 p.m. If you'd like to ride in the carpool, please email seasons@outfrontkzoo.org or call OutFront at 269-349-4234 no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 so we can plan appropriately.
Please note that Seasons will not meet on Wednesday, May 13 in lieu of this event.

SEASONS is a social networking program for LGBTQIA+ folks ages 50 and up. Come together at OutFront Kalamazoo on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and the fourth Sunday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. to socialize and connect around a common theme, topic, or activity.

LGBTQIA+ Grief Circle
Offered in partnership with Centrica Grief Support, our LGBTQIA+ GRIEF CIRCLE is a grief group for members of the LGBTQIA+ community ages 18 and up impacted by all forms of loss including estrangement, ended relationships, and death. This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at OutFront Kalamazoo.

AroAce Spectrum Community
AROACE SPECTRUM COMMUNITY (AASC) is a group for individuals ages 18 and up who fall within the asexual and aromantic spectrum, along with those who are questioning.
Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at OutFront Kalamazoo.
Community Health Services
Provided in partnership with Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, our COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS are at OutFront Kalamazoo every Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. to assist with things such as food insecurity, applying for health insurance, getting a government phone, finding clothing, and more.

Queer Yoga
Join us for QUEER YOGA every first and third Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at OutFront Kalamazoo! Immerse yourself in a space that is by Queer folks, for Queer folks. Your instructor will guide you through beginner-friendly yoga postures, breath work, and active rest. All skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own mat.
This service is offered in partnership with Kalamazoo Backyard Yogis and is for ages 18 and up. This is a donation-based class, with all proceeds benefitting OutFront Kalamazoo. Registration is required.
Pride Recovery
PRIDE RECOVERY is open to all LGBTQIA+ individuals ages 18 and up affected by substance abuse in this weekly twelve-step recovery program.
Meetings take place every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to noon at OutFront Kalamazoo.
OutLoud Sports: Party in the Park & Kickball League Sign-Ups
OutFront Kalamazoo and OutLoud Sports are excited to announce our 2026 LGBTQIA+ & Allies Kickball League! Join us on Saturday, May 2 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at South Westnedge Park (across the street from OutFront!) to learn more, sign up for our upcoming 6-week season, and enjoy an afternoon of yard games.

About the Artist
Carl Wyman (she/her) also known as bleached blossoms is an abstract artist focusing on exploring the relationship with art and mental illness. She creates in a variety of mediums, exploring color, shapes, and textures. Many of her pieces touch on the struggles she faces in self-expression and identity due to her illnesses, as well as tapping into colors and themes that remind her of childhood. She is a painter, printmaker, maker of jewelry, as well as any other medium that captures her attention.
