Michigan Supreme Court ruled that Michigan’s Civil Rights Law guarantees protections for LGTBQ+ people in Rouch World LLC v Michigan Department of Civil Rights

On July 28th, The Michigan Supreme Court ruled that Michigan’s Civil Rights Law guarantees protections for LGTBQ+ people. This is an extraordinary win for LGTBQ+ Michiganders and our families, friends, and allies.

The work isn't finished yet. That is why OutFront is proud to be part of the statewide #HateWontWin coalition with Equality Michigan and our other amazing LGBTQ+ community organizations.

Politicians in Lansing have made it very clear: they do not want us to exist. An official amendment to the Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity and expression” is still imperative to guaranteeing LGTBQ+ rights in our state. That’s why the #HateWontWin coalition is working to build lasting political power this election cycle and beyond. Take the pledge to vote for EQUALITY here: https://www.hatewont.win/pledge
