Statement from OutFront Kalamazoo

Over the last couple of weeks, our organization has endured an upsurge in familiar and hateful vitriol.

We did not need a reminder of why we do this work or why OutFront Kalamazoo is needed. We see this day in and day out in the community we serve. These hateful individuals only embolden us more to continue our work towards creating a just, inclusive, and supportive environment in Southwest Michigan for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.

What continues to impact us is never their hateful words, but the groundswell of solidarity that we received from our community and allies. We are deeply humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love and support.

Sometimes, even advocates need advocates themselves. Thank you for being there for us.
