Rally for Equality and COVID-19
In less than three weeks, the LGBTQ+ community and our allies will gather for the Rally For Equality on Saturday, September 18th, 11am to 2pm at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo. Eighteen Partner Organizations have joined the effort and several legislative and community leaders have agreed to speak. Given concerns about the possible spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus:
Following President Biden’s plan regarding COVID-19, OutFront is requiring that masks be worn at the event.
The Rally for Equality will be held as planned and will be live-streamed on Facebook for those who wish to participate virtually.
The CDC has made it clear that outdoor activities pose minimal risk to fully vaccinated people. If you are vaccinated, you may choose to wear a mask in a crowded outdoor settings if you or someone in your household is immunocompromised or at increased risk for severe disease, or if someone in your household is unvaccinated.
If you are unvaccinated, the Kalamazoo County Health Department offers COVID-19 vaccines located at 311 E. Alcott Street, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There isn't enough time to be considered fully vaccinated before the Rally, so masking is still advised.
OutFront Kalamazoo is committed to the health and safety of the community. We hope you will join us, live or virtually. It is time to re-energize, reunite and raise our voices to demand change.
