In honor of Banned Book Week, come talk about and read from your favorite banned books with OutFront Kalamazoo in this open mic event.

In the past few years, we have seen a tremendous increase in the calls for books to be removed from public spaces, such as in schools and libraries. Many of these have LGBTQIA+ characters, stories, and themes. We reject such censorship.

During this event, we will celebrate and uplift our favorite banned books!

Bring an excerpt from your favorite banned book (with or without LGBTQIA+ themes) to read at the mic. Snacks and free books will be provided.
